On the 26th June, Lancaster Pride will return to the city to prove that it’s always ‘safe to be me’ with colourful parade and a chance to perform on the big stage.
This year’s Lancaster Pride parade has been organised by Out in the Bay – the Lancaster-based charity which works with LGBTQI people and young adults, people who misuse drugs and alcohol, and those living with long-term sexual health conditions.
The parade will start at 11am in Dalton Square and travel around the one-way system, with the main event then taking place from noon until 5pm in Dalton Square. Out in the Bay CEO Robert Mee has confirmed the main event will focus on why it’s ‘safe to be me’.
Last year’s Lancaster Pride had some incredible acts including Sean Smith – formerly one half of X Factor brother/sister due Same Difference. This year’s celebrations will be no different with Britain’s Got Talent Semi-Finalist Jamie Lee Harrison joining the line-up alongside Jessie Dale from the Voice Kids 2018.
Out in the Bay has also introduced a new competition for someone to win a place singing/lip syncing on stage. This competition will be held at the Staggered Inn in Marketgate Lancaster.
